Attractive - and rarely seen! - DRK (ie. 'Deutsches Rotes Kreuz') so-called: nurses'-badge entitled: 'Schwesternschaft' being an oval-shaped- and/or maker-marked specimen showing an engraved bearers'-number: ('24') and towns'-name: 'Karlsruhe'
This is an attractive - truly worn- and used but nevertheless actually rarely encountered! - neatly enamelled- and totally untouched albeit slighty 'chipped' - so-called: DRK (ie. 'Deutsches Rotes Kreuz' or: German Red Cross) nurses'-badge entitled: 'Schwesternschaft' being a desirable oval-shaped-version showing an engraved very (low!) bearers'-number (that reads: '24') and/or: towns'- (ie. hospital-name) that reads: 'Karlsruhe' and that comes in an overall nice- (albeit moderately worn- and/or minimally damaged-), condition. The piece was (I deem) clearly worn and does show some (minimal) enamel-damage: it is not denazified and just shows some regular wear and does show some minor scratches ie. wear-marks (as can be seen on the pictures). The lapel-pin shows a clear makers'-designation (that reads: 'A.Stubbe - Berlin') and is engraved with a (unique, quite low) bearers'-number that reads: '24'. The badge most certainly belonged to a nurse that worked in a hospital or clinic based in the town of Karlsruhe (something that is obvious due to the encountered engraving). The badge comes naturally mounted onto its functional (and totally unaltered!) pin and/or catch (-set-up). A similar badge is also figured in the 'Heering-Hüsken' lapel-pin-catalogue, were it is given the unique reference-number: 5613XG. The badge on offer here was never cleaned and shows an attractive (darker- ie. tarnished, golden-coloured-) patina on its back. This is the desirable oval-shaped version (having an approximate width of 4,7 cms.). Simply an attractive and honest example of this desirable DRK 'Schwesternschaft'-lapel-pin that is with certainty not that often offered for sale: I deem that I have priced it according to its nicely preserved albeit slighty 'chipped' condition!
