This particular example - which is as stated above nicely maker- (ie. 'FZZ'-) marked on its back as to be expected - is a typical piece that was with certainty produced by the: 'Fritz Zimmermann'-company based in the town of Stuttgart. The badge - which has still truly pronounced detail - comes naturally mounted onto its functional (and/or totally unaltered!) catch, pin and/or hinge as to be expected (as can be seen on the pictures). The clearly issued (and moderately worn) piece is executed in silver-greyish-coloured zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based metal. The piece retains a fair bit of its silver-toned finish (as is not always the case with these particular IABs) and has maintained an attractive silver-grey-coloured finish and has a typical zinc-based age-patina. The badge is just a tiny bit stained ie. dirty but was never cleaned nor polished. The pronounced detail is, therefore, still very nicely preserved. The pin and/or catch (ie. set-up-) are of course fully functional and/or present (as can be seen on the pictures). It should be noted that these attractive-, 'FZZ'-marked-, 'Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen in Silber' as were produced by the: 'Fritz Zimmermann'-company are not that easily encountered: I deem that this example is accordingly priced!
