Attractive - and scarcely found! - police (ie. 'Gendarmerie'-related-) armbadge (ie. arm-eagle) - being a regular, woolen-based-version that was specifically intended for a member who served within the: 'Gendarmerie Frankfurt a. Main'

The attractive - and fairly large-sized arm-badge, sized: 10 x 9 cms. - is executed on typical 'Polizei'-type, woolen-based cloth and was moderately worn and/or carefully tunic-removed. The piece - that shows some minimal age, wear and/or staining - comes in an overall very nice, condition. The neat piece truly shows great pronounced detail: the used machine-embroidery (done in typical bright-green-coloured linnen) is simply stunning (as can be seen on the pictures). These unusal 'Polizei o. Gendarmerie'-related arm-eagles can also be encountered without having an embroidered towns-name above the eagle: this is a 'named' version showing the specific town embroidery entitled: 'Frankfurt a. Main' (as can be noticed on the pictures). This particular piece originated from a small series of scarcely seen 'Gendarmerie'- ie. 'Polizei'-related armbadges which series was brought to the USA after the war as a 'vet-bring-back' souvenir. It should be noted that these neat 'Gendarmerie Ärmeladler' can easily be graded 'fairly scarce' and come not that often for sale!
