Attractive - and/or fully matching! - WH (Heeres), 'cyphered', officers'-type shoulderboard-pair (that comes mounted on its unsually seen: 'Auf der Steg'-mounting!) as was intended for an: 'Oberleutnant des schweren Werfer-Regiments 1'
This is an attractive - somewhat unusually constructed and fully matching! - WH (Heeres), neatly 'cyphered', officers'-type shoulderboard-pair (that comes mounted on its unsually seen: 'Auf der Steg'-mounting!) and that is piped in the neat darker-purple-red- (ie. 'bordeaux-roter'-) coloured branchcolour as was specifically intended for usage by an: 'Oberleutnant des schweren Werfer-Regiments 1' (or: army lieutnant first-class who served within the heavy smoke-troops regiment, numbered: '1') and that comes in an overall very nice- (and I deem just moderately used ie. worn- and/or clearly tunic-removed-), condition. The shoulderboards come mounted on their seldomly seen 'Auf der Steg'-set-up ie. mounting and where most likely used onto a white-coloured- (or: summer-type-) tunic. They were (period!) constructed by using a pair of truly 'text-book'-examples of the 'Heeres'-type 'Infanterie'-shoulderboards that was additionally piped with darker-purple-red- (ie. 'bordeaux-roter'-) coloured wool and have the bright-silver- (ie. somewhat shiny-) 'upperdecks'. The boards are constructed from the smooth- ie. 'moleskin'-type wool. The pair - that was recently found at a German private-household - shows a fully matching set of (neatly bright-golden-toned, larger-sized and/or identical) '1'-numerals (ie. 'Ziffern') and a pair of (equally-styled) pips period-attached (as can be noticed on the pictures). All four devices are just minimally stained- ie. tarnished but have preserved a fine and fairly bright- (and/or quite shiny!) age-patin. The boards measure approximately 11 cms. in length each. The pair was most certainly used and/or worn as such and does show some minimal age, wear and/or staining (both 'Auf der Steg'-mountings come in a fine condition and are fully functional and can easily serve to complete a tunic). Simply an attractive - and comparatively scarcely encountered! - officers'-type, '(Nebel)Werfer'-related shoulderboard-pair that belonged to an: 'Oberleutnant des schweren Werfer-Regiments 1'!
