Attractive, DRK (ie. 'Deutsches Rotes Kreuz') so-called: nurses'-badge entitled: 'Schwesternschaft' being a desirable, larger-sized version showing an engraved bearers'-number: ('426') and towns'-name: ('Karlsruhe')
This is an attractive - minimally damaged and repaired but nevertheless still very scarcely encountered! - neatly enamelled, so-called: DRK (ie. 'Deutsches Rotes Kreuz' or: German Red Cross) nurses'-badge entitled: 'Schwesternschaft', being a desirable larger-sized version showing an engraved bearers'-number: (that reads: '426') and towns'- (ie. hospital-) name that reads: ('Karlsruhe') and that comes in a moderately used- and/or period-repaired, condition. The piece was (I deem) clearly worn and does show some minimal enamel-damage (as is visible on its top): furthermore does it show some regular wear and does show some minor scratches ie. wear-marks (as can be seen on the pictures). The lapel-pin is shows a clearly present makers'-designation (that reads: 'A. Stübbe - Berlin') and is engraved with a (unique) bearers'-number that reads: '426'. The badge most certainly belonged to a nurse that worked in a hospital or clinic based in the twon of Karlsruhe (something that is obvious due to the encountered engraving). The badge comes naturally mounted onto its functional (but period-replaced!) pin and/or catch (set-up). A similar badge is also figured in the 'Heering-Hüsken' lapel-pin-catalogue, wherein it is given the unique reference-number: 5613XG. The badge on offer here was never cleaned and shows an attractive (golden-coloured-) patina on its back. This is the desirable larger-sized version (having an approximate diameter of 4,2 cms.). Simply an attractive and honest example of this desirable DRK 'Schwesternschaft' lapel-pin that is not that often offered for sale and that is priced according to its period-repaired and minimally damaged condition!
