Superb, 1870-period: 'Eisernes Kreuz II. Klasse' (or: iron cross second class) showing a (firmly & period!) 'Eichenlaubspange 25' attached and that comes mounted onto its (minimally) confectioned piece of ribbon (ie. 'Bandabschnitt')
This is an attractive - and actually rarely found! - example of a surely issued- and/or worn example of a 1870-period: 'Eisernes Kreuz II. Klasse' (or: iron cross second class) that shows a (firmly and most certainly period-done!) 'Eichenlaubspange 25' attached and that comes mounted onto its (minimally) confectioned piece of ribbon (ie. 'Bandabschnitt') and that comes as issued and/or recently found. The detail on this example is nicely preserved: it has - I deem - never been cleaned nor polished and has an attractive and/or minimally tarnished age-patina (as can be seen on the pictures). The cross came mounted onto its folded (minimally shortened and/or confectioned) ribbon (ie. 'Bandabschnitt'). Both the IC as well as the 'Eichenlaubspange 25' truly retain nice and pronounced details and are just a tiny bit stained ie. tarnished (as can be seen on the pictures). The cross has a nicely preserved, black-finished (ie. somewhat 'satin-like'- ie. 'matted-style'-) core and is void of any real damage or paint-loss and has been truly nicely preserved. The piece is just a tiny bit dusty and/or stained but was never cleaned nor polished (as can be seen on the pictures). The ribbon (approx. 20 cms. sized) shows only minimal usage and/or staining. Simply a neat and rarely-seen 1870-period 'EKII. Klasse mit Eichenlaubspange 25' that is with certainty accordingly priced!
