Attractive - albeit moderately worn! - WH (Kriegsmarine) 'U-Bootkriegsabzeichen' being a non-maker-marked example as executed in bright-golden-toned 'Buntmetall' (ie. 'Tombak') as was produced by the maker (ie. 'Hersteller'): 'Schwerin - Berlin'
The atractive - and typical 'Buntmetall'- (ie. 'Tombak'-) based! - naval war-badge is as stated above a non-maker-marked- and truly very detailed example that comes in a surely issued- and/or worn albeit overall nicely preserved, condition. It is, as such, a typical example that was produced by the desirable maker (ie. 'Hersteller'): 'Schwerin' as was based in the town of Berlin. The piece has an attractive age-patina and retains almost all of its period-applied golden-toned finish (and still shows some of its off-factory 'hochpolierte Kanten' ie. polished sides as can be clearly seen on the pictures). The piece shows, moreover, extraordinary detail and comes naturally mounted onto its functional (flute-shaped- and/or golden-toned-) pin- and/or typical (silver-toned) catch(-set-up) which are both fully unaltered and of course fully functional. The badge has - I deem - never been cleaned nor polished and is still a tiny bit dirty ie. stained. Simply an attractive - and with certainty not that often seen! - 'U-Bootkriegsabzeichen' by a desirable maker that was never before in collectors'-hands and that is I deem accordingly priced!
