Stunning - very decorative and truly scarcely encountered! - neatly hand-embroidered, WH (Luftwaffe)-related specific 'Umhang' (= cape) officers-pattern eagle (ie. 'Adler für Umhang für Offiziere der Luftwaffe')
This is a very attractive - most certainly very decorative and actually very scarcely encountered! - neatly hand-embroidered, WH (Luftwaffe)-related specific 'Umhang' (= cape) officers'-pattern eagle (ie. 'Adler für Umhang für Offiziere der Luftwaffe') being a truly detailed example that comes in a wonderful albeit clearly worn- (and/or carefully cape-removed-), condition. The large-sized and very detailed eagle (having a wingspan of 19 cms.!) is wonderfully hand-embroidered in bright-silver-coloured 'braid' (having some high-lighted areas) and is truly a great example of the fantastic technique and craftmenship used back in the days. The piece was clearly once cape-attached and was kept as such for decades: the eagle still shows most of its thin-shaped and paper-based 'backing' (as can be noticed on the pictures). It should specifically be mentioned that this is a 100% period item and not a modern or recently-produced copy. This piece was recently uncovered at a private-household in Germany. Simply a very nice and surely unusually seen Luftwaffe-related-item that comes most certainly not that often for sale!
