Attractive - and actually quite scarcely encountered! - WH (Heeres) so-called: 'Truppen-Traditionsabzeichen des 26. Panzer-Division' (aka: 'Grenadierkopf') as executed in greyish-silver-toned metal (ie. 'Buntmetall')

This is an attractive - and actually fairly scarcely encountered! - so-called: WH (Heeres) 'Traditions-Abzeichen' (or 'Plakette' as officially known per regulation) that was worn by the members of the '26. Panzer-Division' (aka: 'Grenadierkopf') being a detailed example as executed in greyish-silver-toned metal (ie. 'Buntmetall') and that comes mounted onto its original pin- ie. catch attachment. The badge - only sized: 3,8 x 2,5 cms. - is truly very detailed and depicts a soldier wearing an early-pattern 'Grenadier'-helmet. The badge on offer here has never been cleaned nor polished and shows truly great and/or pronounced detail: it still retains (all) of its regular finish and was - I deem - hardly worn nor used. A similar example of this badge is also pictured in the Heering-Hüsken 'Abzeichenkatalog', wherein it is given the unique reference-number '9838' and wherein it is given an estimated value of 350 Eu (!). As possiblly known were these (actually semi-official!) badges also properly entered in both 'Wehrpass' and/or 'Soldbuch': they also were handed-out with an official award-document. As more often is this the piece on offer here totally void of a makers'-designation (as can be noticed on the pictures). Simply a very nice WH (Heeres) 'Panzer'-related: 'Truppentraditionsabzeichen' that will be impossible to be upgraded and that is accordingly priced!
