Superb medal-set: 'KvK 2. Klasse mit Schwertern' being a maker- (ie. '16'-) marked specimen by the maker- (ie. This is a truly very attractive - and fully matching! - medal-set: 'Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2. Klasse mit Schwertern' (or: War Merits' Cross second class with swords) comprising of a neatly maker- (ie. '16'-) marked specimen that comes packed in its original (and variant-styled!) pouch of issue as was produced by the maker- (ie. 'Hersteller') named: 'Alois Rettenmaier' as based in the town of Schwäbisch-Gmünd and that comes in an overall very nice- (ie. I deem issued- but simply never worn- not mounted-), condition. The medal came together with its original, non-confectioned, bright-red-coloured and pre-folded (and approx. 24 cms. long-sized-) ribbon and came packed in its neat (unusually 'transparent'-paper-based) pouch (which is fully complete as can be seen on the pictures). The medal - which is a truly very nicely preserved 'Buntmetall'-) based specimen - was I deem issued but simply never used nor worn. The medal has a quite 'shiny' (ie. golden-bronze-) coloured age-patina and was most certainly never cleaned nor polished and therefore are details and/or finish still very nice and/or crisp. The pouch comes as stated above in an equally nicely preserved condition: it shows the printed makers'-designation of the: 'Alois Rettenmaier'-company as based in the town of Schwäbisch-Gmünd (as is printed on its back as stated above). It should be noted that the 'Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2. Klasse mit Schwertern'-award is quite commonly encountered: those numbered (and matching!) sets are most certainly NOT! This example originates from a larger KVK-collection that was compiled over many years and that I recently acquired for the web-site. Simply one of the nicest, and fully matching 'KvK II.Kl. mit Schwertern'-medal-sets by this particular maker I had on offer for quite some time!
