Attractive - and silver-based! - 'Preussen'-related commemorative-award-plaque (ie. 'Erinnerungs- o. nichttragbare Auszeichnungsplakette' or: 'Medaille für Verdienste um das Militär-Brieftaubenwesen 1918' and that came stored in its etui

This is an attractive - and with certainty not that often encountered! - typical (I deem) genuine silver-based, so-called: commemorative-award-plaque (ie. 'Erinnerungs- o. nichttragbare Auszeichnungsplakette') or: 'Medaille für Verdienste um das Militär-Brieftaubenwesen 1918' and that came stored in its period, black- (ie. 'schwarzer'-) coloured and genuine leather-based etui as issued and kept as such for decades. The neat table-medal is totally void of a makers'-designation (and that was apparently awarded in order to commemorate extraordinary performance within the field of military postal-pigeons) comes stored in its (luxuriously-styled!) period etui (ie. 'Verleihungsetui'). The neat - somewhat smaller-sized- and/or regular-weight-piece that shows a detailed illustration of the 'Kaiser' Wilhelm II (in uniform) on its front and on its back an illustration of a pigeon surrounded by the text: 'Für Verdienste um das Militär-Brieftaubenwesen' - has an approximate diameter of just 3,1 cms. and has very pronounced detail as to be expected. It was most certainly never cleaned nor polished and has maintained a truly fantastic (very shiny- ie. truly frosted-) silverish-toned age-patina that still shows all of its high-polished sides (ie. 'hochpolierte Kanten') as can be seen on the pictures. The black-coloured (and square-shaped) etui - comes in an equally very nicely preserved condition and shows a (fully preserved, darker-blue-coloured- and/or velvet-based) 'inlay' (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece originates from a private-household in Germany where it was recently uncovered as issued and/or stored for decades. Simply an attractive - and with certainty unusually encountered! - military 'Reichsbrieftaubenwesen'-related, sports'-table-medal ie. 'Erinnerungs- o. nichttragbare Medaille' that is I deem accordingly priced!
