Superb - regrettably single but nevertheless very rarely encountered! - early-period and neatly 'cyphered', WH (Heeres) officers'-type, 'cyphered' shoulderboard that belonged to a: 'Major eines Nebelwerfer-Abteilungs'
This is a truly attractive - regrettably single but nevertheless very rarely encountered! - early-period (ie. before 1936) WH (Heeres) officers'-type, neatly 'cyphered' shoulderboard as was piped in the bright-red- (ie. hochroter-) coloured branchcolour that was intended for - and most certainly worn as such by! - a: 'Major eines Nebelwerfer-Abteilungs' (ie.: officer holding the army-rank of major) and that comes in an overall very nice- (albeit I deem issued, minimally worn and/or carefully tunic-removed-), condition. The board has the bright silver-coloured- (ie. somewhat 'shiny'-) so-called: 'upperdeck' and shows a neat (Gothic-styled, golden-toned- and I deem Buntmetall-based) 'N'-cypher (ie. 'Ziffer') period-attached denoting the officers'-rank ie. function of: 'Major eines Nebelwerfer-Abteilungs'. The neat - and truly rarely seen device is just a tiny bit tarnished from normal age and/or storage for decades but is very pronounced and detailed (as can be seen on the pictures). The board - that measures approx. 9,8 cms. in length - comes mounted onto its smaller-sized, officers'-type tongue attached and does show some minimal wear, age and/or staining (as can be seen on the pictures). Of additional interest is, moreover, the fact that the 'N'-cypher was attached to the board BEFORE it was fully assembled (as can be noticed on the pictures). It should be noted that the 'Nebel-Truppen' used the bright-red- (ie. hochroter-) coloured branchcolour upto late 1936: after that date their branchcolour was changed into the darker-purple-red- (ie. 'bordeaux-roter'-) coloured branchcolour. This very nice - and truly rarely encountered! - shoulderboard (that came with a silver-toned 'Schraubknopf' attached) originates from a fairly large collection of boards and straps I recently aquired for the web-site. Simply a very attractive - and with certainty desirable! - neatly 'cyphered', pre-1936-type shoulderboard that belonged to a: 'Major eines Nebelwerfer-Abteilungs': I deem that I have priced this rare and interesting board according to its obvious rarity and/or desirabilty!
