Superb - fully matching and just moderately worn! - pair of neatly 'cyphered', WH (Heeres) officers'-type shoulderboards as was (I deem) intended for usage by a: 'Hauptmann der Festungs-Bau-Bataillons 77'

This is a very attractive - fully matching, very unusual and with certainty rarely encountered! - pair of neatly 'cyphered', WH (Heeres) officers'-type shoulderboards as piped in the black- (ie. 'schwarzer'-) coloured branchcolour as was (I deem) specifically intended for usage by a: 'Hauptmann der Festungs-Bau-Bataillons 77' (or: engineers'-captain who served within a specific army-construction-unit, numbered: '77) and that comes in an overall very nice- (and I deem clearly used- ie. worn- and/or carefully tunic-removed-), condition. The neat shoulderboards - which are actually not that easily encountered and can easily be graded 'fairly rare' - are constructed in the smooth-type (ie. 'moleskin'-like) wool and are piped in the black- (ie. 'schwarzer'-) coloured branchcolour (denoting a: 'Pioniere'-background of the officer who wore these). The boards - which have a length of approximately 11 cms. each - come mounted onto their (typical) officers'-pattern tongues (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards have the 'silver-greyish'-coloured (ie. somewhat 'sub-dued'-) 'upperdecks' (something that - I deem - clearly identifies them as 'front-used' pair). The boards show some moderate age, wear and/or staining (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards originate from a private-household in Germany and were never before part of a collection. This pair shows a (fully matching, larger-sized- and/or bright-golden-toned) set of Gothic-styled- so-called: 'T'-cyphers (ie. 'Ziffern') intended to signify membership within 'technische Battalione', two pairs of equally-styled and smaller-sized '7'-numerals and four (also equally styled) pips, most certainly period-attached: all ten devices show some minimal tarnish ie. wear but are simply very nicely preserved. Simply a very attractive - and most certainly desirable! - WH officers'-pattern shoulderboard-pair that belonged to a: a: 'Hauptmann der Festungs-Bau-Bataillons 77': only the first such rare shoulderboard-pair I ever had on offer!
