Superb, 'Eisernes Kreuz II. Klasse' being a maker- (ie. '98'-) marked example that comes together with its (mint- and full length) ribbon (ie. 'Bandabschnitt') as was produced by the Austrian-based maker (ie. 'Hersteller'): 'Rudolf Souval'
The attractive piece - which was surely issued and/or hardly or even never worn! - came together with its folded and/or non-confectioned (and approx. 29 cms. long-sized-) ribbon (ie. 'Bandabschnitt') as issued. The cross - which shows a clear makers'-designation '98' stamped into its ring (as can be seen on the pictures) - was with certainty never cleaned and has a very nice and/or truly attractive age-patina: it retains a fair bit (ie. almost all!) of its so-called: 'hochpolierte Kanten' (or: polished sides) and is truly void of any damage or alike: the cross is simply very nicely preserved (as can be seen on the pictures). The cross has a very nicely preserved, black-finished (ie. somewhat 'satin'-like) core: it is almost void of any damage or paint-loss (just one truly tiny area on one of the swastika-arms is noticable) and has been nicely preserved (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece is just a tiny bit dusty and/or stained but was never cleaned nor polished. The cross is an evident specimen that was produced by the by the desirable maker: 'Rudolf Souval' as based in the town of Wien (ie. Vienna) (ie. 'Hersteller 98'): it has very nice and/or pronounced detail as to be expected for a cross by this desirable maker. The IC was recently found at a German private-household and was never before in collectors'-hands. Simply a neat, maker-marked 'EK II. Klasse' that will be very hard to be upgraded!
