Stunning, WWI-period field-grey-coloured- and/or steel-based belt-buckle that comes mounted onto its maker- (ie. 'St.Ortey - Marienberg'-) marked leather-based tab
This is a truly superb - and simply never used- nor worn! - example of a WWI-period, field-grey-coloured- and/or typical steel-based belt-buckle (ie. 'Koppelschloss für Unteroffiziere u. Mannschaften') that comes mounted onto its light-brown-coloured and neatly maker- (ie. 'St.Ortey - Marienberg'-marked) genuine leather-based tab and that comes in a simply never issued- nor used- (ie. 'virtually mint-), condition. The buckle truly retains all of its somewhat 'matted'-styled, field-grey-coloured finish without showing any age or defaults: it was simply never cleaned (as can be seen on the pictures). The inside of the buckle only shows some dust caused by over more than 100 years of storage only. The leather-based tab is naturally also still fully functional and souple: it shows a clear makers'-designation ie. stamp (as can be clearly observed in the pictures) and remains in an equally very nicely preserved condition overall (it was never greased nor oiled and is truly void of age ie. staining). The buckle itself is unmarked (something that is more often observed). The piece was recently found at a private-household in Germany and was never before part of a collection. Simply a very attractive - and with certainty very scarcely found! - WWI-period-example that is priced according to its overall stunning condition!
