This is a very attractive - albeit minimally worn- ie. used! - example of an: 'Eisernes Kreuz 1. Klasse' (or: Iron Cross 1st class) being being a clearly maker- (ie. '6.'-) marked example as was with certainty produced by the desirable maker (ie. 'Hersteller') named: 'Fritz Zimmermann' ('Hersteller 6.') and that comes stored in its original, simulated leather-based- (non-maker-marked, 'generic-styled'- and fairly luxuriously styled!) etui as issued and/or recently found and that comes in an overall very nice- (albeit minimally used- and/or worn-), condition. The magnetic (and typically non-vaulted) cross has a very attractive (somewhat darkened) age-patina and retains truly great detail: the black-coloured (ie. somewhat satin-toned) core shows no rust nor damage whatsoever: the (somewhat 'matted') black-coloured paint in the core is truly fully preserved: it is totally void of any paint-damage (as can be seen in the pictures). The cross also retains a fair bit of its 'off-factory applied' polished sides (ie. 'hochpolierte Kanten'). The back of the cross is just minimally stained (but was never cleaned nor polished though). The (flute-shaped) pin (that bears the impressed numeral '6.' on its top) and typical catch (ie. set-up) are naturally fully unaltered and/or fully functional. The etui comes also in a very fine and complete condition: the thin-shaped and silver-rimmed cross that figures on the etui's top is in a very nice and totally undamaged condition whereas the beige-white-coloured- and velvet-like interior is also fully present and in place (it does just show some minimal age and/or staining). The cross is - as stated above - an attractive example that was produced by the maker 'Fritz Zimmermann' as based in the town of Stuttgart and that was never before in a collection. I deem that this attactive - and fully untouched! - IC-set is accordingly priced!
