The truly very attractive 'Eisernes Kreuz II. Klasse' on offer here is a neatly maker- (ie. 'L/11'-) marked example that was produced by the maker (ie. 'Hersteller'): 'Wilhelm Deumer' and that came together with its folded but non-confectioned (and approx. 29 cms. long-sized-) ribbon (ie. 'Bandabschnitt') as recently found. The piece was (I deem) surely issued but was simply never worn nor used (nor even mounted). The cross - which shows a clearly stamped makers'-designation: 'L/11' stamped into its ring - was with certainty never cleaned and has a superb and/or attractive age-patina: it truly retains almost all (!) of its so-called: 'hochpolierte Kanten' (or: polished sides) and has a minimally darkened- (ie. hardly 'blackened'- ie. stained) finish (as can be seen on the pictures). The cross has a very nicely preserved, black-finished (ie. somewhat 'satin-like'- ie. somewhat matted-) core: it is totally void of any damage nor paint-loss (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece is just a tiny bit dusty and/or stained but was never cleaned nor polished. The cross is an evident specimen that was produced by the desirable maker: 'Wilhelm Deumer' as was based in the town of Lüdenscheid (ie. 'Hersteller 3'): it has very nice and/or pronounced detail as to be expected for a cross by this desirable maker. The IC was recently found at a German private-household and was never before in collectors'-hands. Simply a superb, clearly maker- (ie. 'L/11'-) marked 'EK II. Klasse' that is with certainty accordingly priced: one of the best such LDO-marked examples I had on offer for quite some time!
