Superb - and scarcely encountered! - so-called: 'Freikorps'- (ie. 'Einwohnerwehr Chiem-Gau'-) related sleeve-diamond (ie.: 'Ärmelraute') showing an early-pattern: 'Einwohnerwehr'-device depicting a (detailed!) eagle-head and text: 'Chiem-Gau'
This is a very attractive - and actually truly scarcely encountered! - so-called: 'Freikorps'- (ie. 'Einwohnerwehr Chiem-Gau'-) related sleeve-diamond (ie.: 'Ärmelraute') showing an early-pattern: 'Einwohnerwehr Chiem-Gau'-device (depicting a (detailed!) eagle-head and text: 'Chiem-Gau' and that came mounted onto its (period) 'Raute'-shaped piece of blue-coloured wool and that comes in an overall very nice- (ie. I deem clearly used- and/or carefully tunic-removed-), condition. The piece is executed in silverish-golden-toned metal (I deem non-magnetic so-called: 'Buntmetall') and is truly very detailed and pronounced: it is still partly originally-attached to its (period) backing (as can be noticed on the pictures). These attractive Bavarian sleeve-diamonds (ie.: 'Ärmelrauten') were worn by the various volunteers during the period between 1919 and 1925. Simply a an attractive - and scarcely seen! - early-period piece of 'Freikorps'-related insignia that will be hard to be upgraded: only the first such interesting 'Ärmelraute' I ever had on offer!
