This is a truly very attractive - nicely preserved and I deem hardly used! - example of a regrettably empty but nevertheless very desirable etui that was specifically intended to store an: 'Eisernes Kreuz 1. Klasse' (or: Iron Cross 1st class) being a clearly maker- (ie. 'LDO'- and/or 'L/11'-) marked example that comes in an overall very nice- (surely issued albeit I deem hardly used-), condition. The simulated leather-based- (fairly luxuriously-styled- and typically 'non-domed') 'LDO'-etui comes as issued and/or recently found. The unusually(!) maker-marked etui (that shows a white-inked 'L/11'-designation stamped on its bottom) comes in a very fine and fully complete condition: it is void of an IC-illustration on its top but shows a (fully preserved) silver-toned 'LDO'-logo on its top-lid (as can be noticed on the pictures). The black-coloured- and/or (simulated) velvet-like interior is also present and in place (as can be seen on the pictures). The etui was specifically produced to store an: 'Eisernes Kreuz 1. Klasse' by the desirable maker (ie. 'Hersteller'): 'Wilhelm Deumer' as was based in the town of Lüdenscheid. Simply a very attractive - and with certainty rarely found! - clearly maker- (ie. 'LDO'- and/or 'L/11'-) marked IC 1st class etui that was never before part of a collection: I deem that I have priced this very attractive and desirable specimen, accordingly!
