This is a truly attractive specimen of a: 'Winterschlacht im Osten 1941/42'-medal (ie. 'Ost'-medal) as was produced by the: 'Wilhelm Deumer'-company and being a (typical) non-maker-marked specimen that came stored in its original 'Zellstoff'-based pouch of issue as found and stored for decades. The cross came together with its original, non-confectioned (approx. 19 cms. long) ribbon and was still packed in its neat ('Zellstoff'-based) and/or reddish-brown-coloured, carton-based pouch as found. The medal is - as stated above - a neat silverish-grey-toned- and/or typical zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based specimen that was presumably issued but simply never used nor mounted. The medal has a nicely preserved age-patina and was most certainly never cleaned nor polished and therefore are details and/or finish still very nice and/or crisp. The pouch comes in an equally nicely preserved condition: it is fully functional and complete (and shows the printed makers'-mark of the company 'Wilhelm Deumer' based in the town of Lüdenscheid i.W. on its back). Simply a very attractive - and 'matching'! - 'Winterschlacht im Osten 1941/42'-set that will be very hard to be upgraded!
