Superb - and rarely found! - non-maker-marked example of a: 'Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2. Klasse mit Schwertern' (or: war-merits'-cross second class with swords) that comes stored in its (rarely seen!) 'LDO'-marked- (and typically 'LDO'-styled) etui
This is a very attractive - and with certainty desirable and rarely found! - example of a: 'Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2. Klasse mit Schwertern' (or: war-merits'-cross second class with swords) that comes stored in its (rarely seen!) bordeaux-red-coloured and 'LDO'-marked- (and typically 'LDO'-styled) etui as issued and stored for decades. The neat award is a minimally darkened- and/or bright golden-bronze-toned- (and/or: 'Buntmetall'-based-) example that was probably issued and was simply never worn nor even mounted: it came without ribbon as stored for decades. The golden-toned, bronze-like finish and pronounced detail are still very nice and bright: the piece truly retains almost all of its original (somewhat 'shiny') finish and was never polished nor cleaned. The award came stored in its (truly rarely seen!) 6,9 x 6,9 x 2 cms.-sized etui (which is a bordeaux-red-coloured and/or carton-based, so-called generic-styled, 'LDO-etui' that shows a black-toned 'LDO'-symbol printed into its top-lid). It shows a - fully preserved! - bordeaux-red-coloured 'velvet-like' interior but is void of an additional makers'-designation in the top of its lid (as can be seen on the pictures). The set was recently found as such at a German flea-market and was never before in collectors'-hands. Simply a superb 'KvK II. Klasse m. Schwertern'-set that is priced according to its comparative rarity and/or desirability!
