This is an attractive - and with certainty rarely found! - silver-toned- and/or - I deem - typical 'Buntmetall'-based, WH (Heeres) 'Infanterie'-related item: a semi-official, commemorative-medal (aka: 'Url' or: luck-bringer) depicting a detailed illustration of a 'Heeres' soldier wearing a steel-helmet and showing on its back the superimposed text: '7./J.R.105 Frankreich - 1940' and that comes in an overall very nice- (albeit clearly used- ie. worn-), condition. The round-shaped piece (having an approximate diameter of only 3,4 cms.) depicts a neat (and very detailed!) illustration of a 'Heeres' soldier wearing a steel-helmet. On its back it shows the superimposed text: '7./J.R.105 Frankreich - 1940'. The piece is constructed from I deem (quite heavy-weight) silver-toned 'Buntmetall' and shows most of its 'silver-like' finish: it has really nice and/or pronounced detail. I know that these desirable 'semi-official'-medals are also copied: this is naturally a genuine example that was never before part of a collection and originates from a German-household where it was recently uncovered. There is not much known about these commemorative 'medals' but they were most certainly highly desirable 'souvenir'-pieces that could be won by the soldiers active in this war-area: they were often bestowed by their commanfing officers. In any case is this a very attractive - and without doubt rarely seen! - 'Infanterie'-related item!
