Stunning - and somewhat later-war-period - zinc- (ie.'Feinzink'-) based version of a WH (Luftwaffe) 'Fallschirmschützen-Abzeichen' (being a maker- ie. 'A'-marked example as was produced by the 'Assmann & Söhne'-company)
This is a truly very attractive - hardly ie. even never used and with certainty later-war-period! - so-called: zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based version of a WH (Luftwaffe) 'Fallschirmschützen-Abzeichen' (or: paratroopers-war-badge) being a maker- (ie. 'A'-) marked example as was produced by the 'Assmann & Söhne'-company and that comes in an overall very nice- (I deem hardly used- nor worn- ie. 'virtually mint'-), condition. The neat and very detailed badge - which as stated above has I deem hardly been worn - comes naturally mounted onto its functional pin- and/or catch (ie. set-up). These later-war-period, 'molded' badges show a 'loose' and/or detailed (bright) golden-coloured eagle-device attached (by means of two rivets as is visible on the back of the badge). These zinc-based badges show, however, very nice and/or pronounced detail overall. The badge truly retains all of its period- and very bright golden-coloured finish and is hardly tarnished as is not often encountered. The badge shows a clearly impressed 'A'-makers'-mark-designation on its back and can with certainty be attributed to the maker: 'Assmann & Söhne': all specific details corroborate this. A similar example is also described in the excellent reference-book entitled: 'The German Luftwaffe & Heer Paratrooper Badges of World War II - 1936-1945' by my friend Thomas M. Durante wherein this particular pattern is given the unique reference-designation: 'Zinc - Die Struck Wreath - Type G'-variant. Simply an attractive - and garuanteed original! - later-war-period, zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based 'Assmann'-pattern of this desirable Luftwaffe-war-badge that is (I deem) priced according to its wonderful and fully untouched condition!
