Attractive example of a - fairly scarcely encountered! - WH (Heeres ie. Waffen-SS) 'Demjansk'-campaign-shield as executed in typical magnetic metal (ie. so-called: 'Eisenblech') and that comes in an overall very nice- ie. fully untouched, condition

This is an attractive - and/or very detailed! - example of the (actually nowadays fairly scarcely encountered!) WH (Heeres ie. Waffen-SS) so-called: 'Demjansk'-campaign-shield and that comes in an overall very nice- (I deem issued- and just moderately worn- ie. most certainly once tunic-attached-), condition. The (typical magnetic and minimally converse-shaped) campaign-shield - which is executed in greyish-silver-coloured metal (ie.: 'Eisenblech') - comes naturally complete with its metal-based back-plate and retains three (of its four) originally-attached pins ie. prongs in place and misses its (typical black-toned- and thin-shaped) so-called 'backing'-paper: just some remains are present and visible (as can be seen on the pictures). The shield - that comes mounted onto its piece of field-grey-woolen cloth - shows some minimal aging caused by storage and moderate wear: some minimal (rust)staining is visible and/or present but it still retains nice detail as to be expected. The shield was found at a private-household in Germany and was simply stored as such for decades: it was never before in a collection. It should furthermore be mentioned that these 'Demjansk'-campaign-shields are nowadays hard to come by. Simply a very nice - and naturally original! - example of this collectable and desirable campaign-shield that nowadays is not that often offered for sale: I deem that I have priced this attractive (and truly used- and/or worn!) example accordingly!
