Superb - albeit regrettably single! - WH (Heeres), early- (ie. pre-war-) period, 'M40'-type (rounded-style) and neatly 'cyphered' NCO-type shoulderstrap as was intended for a: 'Feldwebel u. Mitglied des (Artillerie) Waffenschule 1'
This is an attractive - albeit regrettably single but nevertheless scarcely encountered! - WH (Heeres), early- (ie. pre-war-) period, 'M40'-type (rounded-style) and neatly 'cyphered' NCO-type shoulderstrap as was piped in the bright-red- (ie. 'hochroter'-) coloured branchcolour as was specifically intended for a: 'Feldwebel u. Mitglied des (Artillerie) Waffenschule 1' (or: NCO ie. sergeant who served within the army artillery unit ie. weapons-school, numebered: '1') and that comes in an overall very nice- (albeit moderately used ie. worn-), condition. The shoulderstrap - which is approximately 11 cms. sized in length - has the 'standard'-pattern- and/or: darker-green-coloured, smooth-woolen-based 'upperdeck' and shows the bright-red- (ie. 'hochroter'-) coloured and woolen-type piping. The strap - which has the silverish-coloured- and/or 'standard'-pattern NCO-braid attached denoting the NCOs'-rank of: 'Feldwebel' - shows the neat (aluminium-based- and/or: 'Gothic'-styled) so-called: 'WS'-cypher (ie. 'Ziffer'), a larger-sized and equally-styled '1'-numeral and an (equally styled and regular-styled) pip attached denoting the NCOs rank of: 'Feldwebel und Mitglied des (Artillerie) Waffenschule 1'. The strap - which comes mounted onto its functional tongue - shows as stated above some moderate usage and/or wear (some minor staining and/or dust is visible and/or present). It should be noted that all 'cyphered'-pattern shoulderstraps can be easily regarded 'fairly scarce'. This example originated from a larger cloth-/shoulderstrap-collection I recently acquired for the web-site. In any case an attractive and/or early-war-period, neatly 'cyphered' and/or 'Heeres'-related NCO-type shoulderstrap that was intended for a: 'Feldwebel u. Mitglied des (Artillerie) Waffenschule 1'!
