Neat, 'Eisernes Kreuz II. Klasse' being a non-maker-marked example as was produced by the maker (ie. 'Hersteller'): 'E. Ferd. Wiedmann' and that comes together with its original - albeit shortened - ribbon (ie. 'Bandabschnitt')
This is a neat - and I deem quite early-period! - 'Eisernes Kreuz II. Klasse' (ie. iron cross second-class) being an example that was surely issued and once- mounted and that comes together with its folded- and/or confectioned (and approx. 14 cms. long-sized- and orange-red-coloured) ribbon (ie. 'Bandabschnitt') as stored for decades. The cross - which is totally void of a makers'-designation stamped into its ring - was with certainty never cleaned and has a nice and/or attractive age-patina: it has, however, lost its so-called: 'hochpolierte Kanten' (or: polished sides) and is somewhat 'tarnished' (as can be seen on the pictures). The cross has a very nicely preserved, black-finished (ie. somewhat 'matted'-) core: it is truly void of any real damage or alike. The piece is just a tiny bit dusty and/or stained but was never cleaned nor polished. The cross has very nice and/or pronounced detail as to be expected for a cross by this desirable maker: it shows all the characteristics for a by the: 'Wiedmann'-company produced IC. The cross was recently found at a German private-household and was truly never before in collectors'-hands. Simply an attractive IC by the 'E. Ferd. Wiedmann'-company: I deem that I did price this with certainty desirable IC, accordingly!
