Superb, 'Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen' (or: General Assault Badge ie. GAB) being a non-maker-marked, zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based: 'flat-back-variant' as was (presumably) produced by the maker (ie. This is a truly very attractive - and I deem hardly used nor worn! - example of an: 'Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen' (or: General Assault Badge ie. GAB) being a non-maker-marked, zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based so-called: 'flat-back-variant' as was (presumably) produced by the maker (ie. 'Hersteller'): 'Funcke & Brünninghaus' as was based in the town of Lüdenscheid and that comes in an overall very nice- (and I deem hardly used nor worn-), condition. The badge is typical zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based example that truly retains all of its (somewhat shiny) silver-coloured finish: it has a typical zinc-like age-patina (as can be seen on the pictures). This particular example comes naturally mounted onto its functional (thin-shaped- and/or silver-coloured-) pin (which is mounted on a typical 'mounting' and/or 'welded-on'-catch as is more often seen). The piece is still very detailed and has a very pronounced appearance: the award has as stated above only minimally been used and shows some minimal wear but was most certainly never cleaned nor polished. It originated from a private-household in Germany and was never before in collectors'-hands. I deem that this particular example can be attributed to the maker: 'Funcke & Brünninghaus' as was based in the town of Lüdenscheid. In any case a very attractive and honest GAB-variant that is with certainty accordingly priced!
