Attractive - and desirable! - two-pieced medal-bar (ie. 'Orden- o. Doppelspange') showing resp. an: 'Eisernes Kreuz II. This is a truly very attractive - and I deem only moderately used- and/or worn! - example of a two-pieced WH (Heeres, LW etc.) medal-bar (ie. 'Orden- o. Doppelspange') showing respectively an: 'Eisernes Kreuz II. Klasse' (or: iron cross second class) and a: 'Medaille Winterschlacht im Osten 1941-42' (or: 'Ost'-medal) that both come period-mounted as a (non-detachable) 'Doppelspange' and that comes in an overall very nice- (albeit issued- and I deem just minimally worn-), condition. The iron cross - which I could not identify - was with certainty never cleaned and has a very nice and/or attractive age-patina: it has lost its so-called: 'hochpolierte Kanten' (or: polished sides) and has a minimally tarnished ie. stained appearance (as can be seen on the pictures). The cross has very nice and/or pronounced detail and has a nicely preserved, black-finished (ie. somewhat 'shiny- ie. satin-like) core: it is totally void of any paint-damage or alike (as can be seen on the pictures). The 'Ost'-medal is a typical unmarked, zinc- (ie 'Feinzink'-) based example that is just a tiny bit dusty and/or stained: it was, however, was never cleaned nor polished. The medal has a somewhat 'matted' (ie. greyish-blue) coloured age-patina and was most certainly never cleaned nor polished and therefore are details and/or finish still very nice and/or crisp (as can be seen on the pictures). The 'Spange' just shows some minimal dirt and/or dust acquired over the years: the ribbons show some equal minor usage and/or staining. The 'Spange' has truly very nice detail and is nicely 'backed' with a piece of black-coloured wool (something that is more often seen) and comes naturally mounted on its (still functional) pin-ie. catch set-up. Simply a very attractive - and very desirable! - example of a non-detachable 'Doppelspange' that can be mounted on almost any TR-period tunic!
