Stunning - and rarely found! - three-pieced WH (Heeres) medal-bar-set (ie. 'Ordenspange-Satz') showing resp. an: 'EKII. Klasse', a: WH 'DA 4.St.' and a: Memel 'Anschluss'-medal and that comes with its 3-pieced 'Feld-/Bandspange'
This is a truly very attractive - and actually truly very rarely found! - 3-pieced medal-bar-set (or: 'Ordenspange-Satz') respectively showing an (unmarked version?) of an: Iron Cross 2nd class (or: 'Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse'), a: 'WH (Heeres- o. Kriegsmarine) Dienstauszeichnung für 4 Jahre Treue Dienste' (or: army- or naval loyal-service medal for four years of loyal service) that comes with a detailed, silver-coloured eagle-device attached) and a rarely found example of WH Memel 'Anschluss'- (ie. occupation-) medal: '1939' (as was given to all members of the armed forces that participated in the German occupation of the Memelland, which took place on 22 March 1939), all three awards coming in an overall very nice- (albeit moderately used- and/or worn-, condition. The attractive 'Eisernes Kreuz II. Klasse' (or: iron-cross second class) was with certainty never cleaned and has a nice and/or attractive age-patina: it has lost its so-called: 'hochpolierte Kanten' (or: polished sides) and has a minimally 'darkened tarnish' (as can be seen on the pictures). The cross has a nicely preserved, black-finished (ie. somewhat 'matted'- ie. satin-like) core that does show some age but that is totally void of any paint-damage (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece - which is produced by a by me unidentified maker - is just a tiny bit dusty and/or stained but was never cleaned nor polished. The 'WH-Dienstauszeichnung' has a neat, minimally darkened appearance and is only minimally tarnished (ie. has a minimally darkened age-patina): it comes with its firmly attached, silver-toned miniature eagle-device (as issued and worn). The superb Memel 'Anschluss'-medal is a naturally a fine and 100% genuine example of the early-type- (ie.: so-called: 'slanted G'-pattern). It also shows great pronounced detail: all of its golden-bronze-toned finish is still perfectly preserved whereas the medal has an attractive tarnish ie. age-patina without showing any defaults. All three medals are just a tiny bit tarnished (caused by moderate wear and/or years of storage) but have most certainly never been cleaned nor polished. The bar is, moreover, nealty 'backed' with piece of greyish-coloured wool as is more often observed. The 'Spange' - which naturally still retains its functional pin- ie. 'pin/catch'-set-up - has extraordinary detail and only shows some regular blackened tarnish caused by mininal wear and/or years of storage. The piece originates from a private house-hold in Germany where it was found with its accompanying 3-pieced 'Feld-/Bandspange' or ribbon-bar. Simply a very attractive three-pieced 'Ordenspange-Satz' showing an unusual combination: great to store in any medal-collection or nicely fitted to 'decorate' any 'Waffenrock'!
