Attractive - and actually quite scarcely encountered! - WH (Heeres) so-called: 'Truppen-Traditionsabzeichen des 26. Panzer-Division' (aka: 'Grenadierkopf') as executed in greyish-coloured zinc-based metal (ie. 'Feinzink')

This is an attractive - and actually fairly scarcely encountered! - so-called: WH (Heeres) 'Traditions-Abzeichen' (or 'Plakette' as officially known per regulation) that was worn by the members of the '26. Panzer-Division' (aka: 'Grenadierkopf') being a detailed example as executed in zinc-based metal (ie. 'Feinzink') and that comes mounted onto its original (but partly damaged) pin-attachment. The badge - only sized: 3,8 x 2,5 cms. - is truly very detailed and depicts a soldier wearing an early-pattern 'Grenadier'-helmet. The badge on offer here has never been cleaned nor polished and shows truly great and/or pronounced detail: it still retains (most ofl) its regular finish and was - I deem - clearly worn and/or used. A similar example of this badge is also pictured in the Heering-Hüsken 'Abzeichenkatalog', wherein it is given the unique reference-number '9838' and wherein it is given an estimated value of 350 Eu (!). As possiblly known were these (actually semi-official!) badges also properly entered in both 'Wehrpass' and/or 'Soldbuch': they also were handed-out with an official award-document. The piece on offer here shows a clearly present makers'-designation (present on its pin set-up that reads: 'Preissler - Pforzheim'. Simply a very nice 'Panzer'-related: 'Truppentraditionsabzeichen' that will be hard to be upgraded and that is accordingly priced!
