This is a very attractive - and with certainty rarely encountered! - (I deem) officers'-pattern, so-called: RAD (ie. 'Reichsarbeitsdienst') special-career arm-insignia (or: 'Laufbahn- o. Tätigkeitsabzeichen' aka: 'RAD-Funktionsabzeichen') depicting an upward-positioned 'VW'-sign as executed in 'flatwire'-woven thread as was specifically intended for usage by a comissioned: 'Mitglied der Verwaltung in Abteilungen' (or: administration-staff-official having an officers'-status) and that comes in an overall very nice- (ie. I deem clearly worn- an/or once tunic-attached-), condition. These badges were worn on the lower left sleeve of the mustard-coloured (officers'-type) RAD-tunics and/or garments. The badge - which shows the silver-toned-coloured, upward-positioned 'VW'-sign - is neatly executed in so-called 'flatwire', 'BeVo'-weave technique. The piece was neatly period-folded ie. trimmed as to be expected and comes as carefully tunic-removed. This particular badge originates from a smaller collection of rarely seen RAD-related cloth-insignia I recently acquired for the web-site. It should be noted that all 'RAD-Funktionsabzeichen' are quite rarely encountered: those intended for specialised (officers!) functions - such as the one offered here - even more so!
