The very attractive - and actually scarcely found! - WH (Heeres) shoulderboards are typical, 'text-book'-examples of the Heeres'-type shoulderboards and have the silverish-grey- (ie. somewhat 'sub-dued'-type-) 'upperdecks': they were with certainty issued but I deem worn and do show some moderate age storage and/or staining but were (I deem) never worn (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards show the desirable darker-purple-red- (ie. 'bordeaux-roter'-) coloured branchcolour (and were constructed from the 'smooth-type' wool as to be expected). The boards never had any tongues attached and were intended for usage as a pair of the 'sew-in'-type (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards measure approximately 11 cms. in length each and show a matching set of (neatly golden-toned, larger-sized- and/or identical) '5'- and/or: '4'-numerals (ie. 'Ziffern') period-attached denoting the officers'-rank of: 'Leutnant' (ie. lieutnant). All four devices are just minimally stained- ie. tarnished but have preserved a fine and fairly bright- (and/or quite shiny) age-patina (as can be seen on the pictures). Taking into account, the fact that this pair has the somewhat 'sub-dued'-type 'upperdecks' I deem that it was a pair that was intended to be used on a regular 'front-used'-tunic: the pair was most certainly issued but was simply never worn nor used. It should also be mentioned that these officers'-pattern, 'Nebelwerfer'- (ie. army smoke-troops-) related shoulderboards are actually quite hard to come by and can easily be graded 'scarce'. Simply an attractive WH (Heeres) shoulderboard-pair that belonged a: 'Leutnant des Nebelwerfer-Regiments 54'!
