Superb - possibly unique and truly rarely found! - woolen-based, RAD (ie. 'Reichsarbeitsdienst') cuff-title (ie. 'Dienstärmelstreifen') depicting the text: 'Bahnen der Hansestadt Köln - Kriegshilfsdienst des RAD'
This is a very attractive - possibly unique and with certainty rarely found! - black-coloured- and woolen-based, RAD (ie. 'Reichsarbeitsdienst') cuff-title (ie. 'Dienstärmelstreifen') depicting the (golden-yellow-coloured) text that reads: 'Bahnen der Hansestadt Köln - Kriegshilfsdienst des RAD' and that comes in an overall very nice- (albeit moderately used- and I deem carefully tunic-removed-), condition. These RAD-related cuff-titles (or in German language known as: 'Dienstärmelstreifen') were worn on the lower left sleeve of the (various) mustard-brown-coloured RAD-tunics. The cuff-title is neatly executed in golden-yellow-coloured linnen in so-called: 'Kurbelstickerei' and was with certainty intended for RAD-staffmembers serving as (volunteer, war-time) tramdrivers in the town of Cologne (ie. Köln). This example - which was clearly worn as such and that measures approximately 35 cms. in length - originates from a small collection of RAD cloth-insignia I recently acquired. This one was clearly worn but comes in an overall very nice condition: it just shows some miminal usage and wear and is neatly lined with bleu-coloured cloth. Simply an attractive - and with certainty rarely found! - piece of RAD-insignia that is I deem accordingly priced!
