Attractive - 'variant-pattern'! - 'Infanterie Sturmabzeichen in Silber' (or: silver infantry assault badge ie. IAB) being a typical non-maker-marked, zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based so-called: 'semi-hollow-back' ie. 'four-rivet'-specimen
This is an attractive - and very desirable, 'variant-pattern'! - 'Infanterie Sturmabzeichen in Silber' (or: silver-class infantry assault badge ie. IAB) being a (typical) non-maker-marked, zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based so-called: 'semi-hollow-back- ie. 'four-rivet'-specimen that comes in an overall nicely preserved- (ie. fully untouched!), condition. This particular example - being as stated a - non-maker-marked- zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based piece - has maintained an attractive (and truly zinc-like-) age-patina and comes naturally mounted onto its functional (thin-shaped- and/or golden-toned-) pin. The piece comes mounted onto its unusually styled pin- ie. catch (set-up) which is constructed from copper-based metal and that are both neatly (and firmly!) 'riveted' into the badge (as can be seen on the pictures). The award - which originated from a private-household in Germany where it was recently uncovered - is very detailed and/or pronounced: it has (I deem) hardly been used nor worn and has a neat (and fully preserved!) silver-toned age-patina. The piece was simply never polished and does still show great pronounced detail (as can be noticed on the pictures). To date the maker of these 'four-rivet'-specimen has not been determined yet. It should, however, be noted that this is a desirable - and with certainty not that often encountered! - IAB-variant that can easily be graded 'very scarce'. Hard to find a more detailed- and/or nicely pronounced example!
