Superb, 'EKII. Kl.'-set comprising of a maker- (ie. '40'-) marked example that comes together with its original ribbon (ie. 'Bandabschnitt') and orange (!) 'Zellstoff'-based pouch as was produced by the maker (ie. 'Hersteller'): 'Berg & Nolte'
The truly attractive 'Eisernes Kreuz II. Kl.'-set on offer here - which was surely issued but that was I deem never worn nor mounted - came together with its folded and/or non-confectioned (and approx. 29 cms. long-sized) ribbon (ie. 'Bandabschnitt') and rarely-seen(!) and orange-coloured 'Zellstoff'-based pouch as found. The cross - which shows a clearly stamped makers'-designation '40' stamped into its ring - was with certainty never cleaned and has a superb and/or attractive age-patina: it truly retains most of its so-called: 'hochpolierte Kanten' (or: polished sides) and has a minimally darkened- (ie. hardly stained) finish (as can be seen on the pictures). The cross has a nicely preserved, black-finished (ie. somewhat 'satin-like'- ie. matted-) core: it is totally void of any damage nor paint-loss (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece is just a tiny bit dusty and/or stained but was never cleaned nor polished. The cross is an evident specimen that was produced by the desirable maker: 'Berg & Nolte' as based in the town of Lüdenscheid (ie. 'Hersteller 40'): it has very nice and/or pronounced detail as to be expected for a cross by this desirable maker. The neat - and naturally 100% genuine and period! - orange-coloured pouch is sized: 13,5 x 10,5 cms. and shows clearl age and/or wear: it is, however, complete and of course still functional: it just shows some minimal dust-marks (ie. minimal staining) and is somewhat 'wrinkled' by age: of additional interest is, morerover, the fact that it shows an inked name of the recipient that reads: 'Langenais - 13. Komp.' (or alike (as can be seen on the pictures). This neat - and truly scarecely encountered! - IC-set was recently found at a German private-household and was never before in collectors'-hands. Simply a superb, clearly maker-marked and fully matching 'EK II. Klasse'-set that is most certainly accordingly priced!
