This is a truly very attractive - and fairly scarcely encountered! - example of a WH (Luftwaffe) cuff-title (ie. 'Ärmelstreifen') entitled: 'Geschwader Boelcke' being a typical, hand-embroidered officers'-pattern example that comes in a clearly issued- ie. moderately worn- and/or period-shortened-, condition. The armband comes - as stated above - in a minimally shortened condition and was clearly used as such (ie. it measures now approximately 36 cms. in length and comes as once tunic-attached). Both ends are unfinished as is more often encountered (as can be seen on the pictures). The armband - which originates from a private household in Germany where it was recently uncovered - shows just moderate age, wear and or staining and was as such most certainly issued- and/or stored as such for decades. The cuff-title is executed in darker-blue-coloured wool and shows the (detailed!) hand-embroidered title in bright-silver-coloured 'braid' as is more often encountered: as such does it show the great crafmenship employed in the days. It deals with a typical example that was intended for mere officers'-usage: 'Ausführung für Offiziere'. Simply a very attractive - and naturally genuine, period! - example that was issued to a pilot serving in a famous 'LW-Geschwader' and that is priced according to its overall nicely preserved and/or fully untouched, condition!
