This is a truly very attractive, medal-set: 'Kriegsverdienstkreuz 1. Klasse mit Schwerter' (or: war-merits'-cross second class with swords) being a maker- (ie. '1'-) marked specimen as was produced by the: 'Deschler u. Sohn'-company and that comes still packed in its original, black-coloured (ie. somewhat simplified) etui and dito 'Überkarton' and that comes in a truly 'virtually mint- ie. unissued'-, condition. The award - which can easily be graded 'mint-/unissued' and that was simply never handed-out - is a truly attractive, maker-marked- and/or fairly shiny, so-called: 'Buntmetall'- (ie. 'Tombak-') based specimen that has maintained a 'shiny' age-patina and still retains most (ie. all) of its polished sides (ie. 'hochpolierte Kanten'). Some minimal age- ie. coloured staining is, however, visible and/or present, simply caused by decades of storage only. The piece has most certainly never been cleaned nor polished and therefore are details and/or finish still very nice and/or crisp. The award came stored in its black-coloured (ie. simplified) etui (that retains a fully preserved KvK-symbol on its top (as can be seen on the pictures). Moreover, did it come 'packed' in its (rarely seen!) carton-based-, beige-coloured box (ie. 'Überkarton'). This 'Überkarton' comes in a wonderful condition and retains all flaps. It should be noted that nicely preserved examples of these 'Kriegsverdienstkreuze 1. Klasse mit Schwerter'-sets are actually not that easily encountered and can easily be graded 'scarce', moreover when they come in such a mint- ie. unissued condition. Simply a nice occasion to acquire a virtually 'mint' 'Kriegsverdienstkreuz 1. Klasse mit Schwerter'-set by the 'Deschler u. Sohn'-company for a competitive price!
