Attractive - and fully matching! - pair of WH (Heeres) neatly 'cyphered', officers'-type shoulderboards as (dual)piped in the black-coloured branchcolour as was intended for a: 'Leutnant der Res. des Pionier-Batallions 7'
The attractive pair is neatly (dual)piped in the black- (ie. 'schwarzer'-) coloured branchcolour and has the typical dove-grey-coloured 'underlay' and was intended for a: 'Leutnant der Reserve des Pionier-Batallions 7' (or: reserve-lieutnant who served within the 'Pionier'- (ie. engineers) 'Bataillion' (ie. battalion), numbered: '7') and comes in an overall very nice- (I deem simply never used- nor worn-), condition. The shoulderboards are 'text-book'-examples of the 'Heeres'-type, 'Pioniere'-shoulderboards and have the silverish-grey-coloured (ie. somewhat 'sub-dued'-pattern) 'upperdecks' (as can be noticed on the pictures). The boards show the desirable black- (ie. 'schwarzer'-) coloured branchcolour (ie. 'Zwischenfarbe') and have the typical dove-grey-coloured 'underlay' (and were constructed from the typical 'smooth'-type wool as to be expected). The boards never had any tongues attached and were intended as a pair of the 'sew-in'-pattern (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards measure approximately 11 cms. in length each and were presumably issued- but simply never worn and do just show some storage-age ie. staining as to be expected. The pair - that was recently found at a German private-household - shows a fully matching set of (neatly bright-golden-toned, larger-sized, older-styled and/or identical) '7'-numerals (ie. 'Ziffern') period-attached. Both devices are just minimally stained- ie. tarnished but have preserved a fine and fairly bright- (and/or quite shiny!) age-patina. Of additional interest is, moreover, the fact that this minty pair came still packed in its period (cellophane-based!) pouch that still shows a period inventory-etiket and/or price (as can be noticed on the pictures). Simply an attractive WH (Heeres) officers-pattern shoulderboard-pair that belonged to a: 'Leutnant der Reserve des Pionier-Batallions 7'!
