Unusual - and actually scarcely seen! - example of a TR-period arm-insignia-piece as was specifically intended for usage by the various officials serving within: 'Deutsche Post Osten'-organisation

This is a neat - truly used and I deem tunic-removed and with certainty scarcely encountered! - silverish-grey-coloured (and typical machine-embroidered) example of a Third Reich-period arm insignia-piece (ie. 'Ärmel-Abzeichen') as was specifically intended for usage by the various officials serving within: 'Deutsche Post Osten'-organisation and that comes in a clearly used- and/or I deem most certainly worn, condition. These interesting arm-badges were executed on a darker-blue- (almost black-) coloured- and woolen back-ground and were intended for usage by staff-members (ie. officers) tasked with postal-control duties at the front and were worn onto the specific uniforms as used by this organisation (as can be noticed on the pictures). The fairly large-sized arm-badge measures approximately 8,5 cms. in height and is 6,5 cms. wide and shows an illustration of an upright-positioned oakleave-device surrounded by the text: 'Deutsche Post Osten'. The badge shows some obvious age, wear and/or staining and does show some moth-damage on its sides (as can be noticed on the pictures). This obscure - and with certainty small-sized! - TR-organisation: 'Deutsche Post Osten' fell under the direction of the 'Deutsche Reichspost' and was instituted by a specific order (ie. 'Erlass') as was issued by the responsible 'Reichsminister' named Richard Ohnesorge on 16 August 1942. There is regrettably not much reference-material available on this subject. This example originates from a larger-sized collection that was compiled over many years and that I recently acquired for the web-site. Simply an attractive - and with certainty scarcely encountered! - 'Deutsche Post Osten'-related arm-patch that is with certainty accordingly priced!
