Attractive, 'Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen' (or: General Assault Badge ie. GAB) being a non-maker-marked, zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based: 'flat-back-variant' as was (presumably) produced by the maker (ie. 'Hersteller'): 'Biedermann & Co'
This is an attractive - and I deem only minimally used ie. worn - example of an: 'Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen' (or: General Assault Badge ie. GAB) being a non-maker-marked, zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based so-called: 'flat-back-variant' which maker has not been fully identified to date but that was (presumably) produced by the maker (ie. 'Hersteller'): 'Biedermann & Co' based in the town of Bonn and that comes in an overall very nice- (albeit minimally used ie. worn-), condition. The badge is typical zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based example that truly retains all of its (bright!) silver-coloured finish as is not always the case: it has a typical, somewhat shiny silver-coloured- and typical zinc-like age-patina (as can be seen on the pictures). This particular example comes naturally mounted onto its functional (thin-shaped- and/or silver-coloured-) pin (which is mounted on a typical 'mounting' and/or 'welded-on'- catch as is more often seen). The piece is still very detailed and has a very pronounced appearance: the award has as stated above only minimally been used and shows some minimal wear on the obvious higher areas but was most certainly never cleaned nor polished. It originated from a private-household in Germany and was never before in collectors'-hands. I deem that this particular example can (preseumably) be attributed to the maker: 'Biedermann & Co' based in the town of Bonn. In any case an attractive and honest GAB-variant that is with certainty accordingly priced!
