Neat - and clearly used! - pair of WH (Heeres) officers'-type shoulderboards as piped in the bright-orange- (ie. 'orangeroter'-) coloured branchcolour as intended for an: 'Oberstleutnant' who served within an: 'Feldgendarmerie-Abts. o. Akademie'
The attractive - clearly used, minimally damaged but actually nevertheless scarcely found! - WH (Heeres) officers'-type shoulderboards are typical, 'text-book'-examples of the Heeres-pattern, officers'-type, 'Feldgendarmerie o. Akademie'- (ie. field-police-troops- or academy-member) related shoulderboards and have the (darkened) silverish-grey- (ie. somewhat 'sub-dued'-type-) 'upperdecks'. The boards were most certainly worn and were carefully tunic-removed and came as stored for decades (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards show the desirable bright-orange- (ie. 'orangeroter'-) coloured branchcolour (and were constructed from the 'smooth-type' wool as to be expected). The boards never had any tongues attached (they were clearly intended for usage as a pair of the 'sew-in'-pattern) and measure approximately 10 cms. in length each. The pair shows a pair of (golden-toned, matching and/or 'Buntmetall'-based) pips attached and were thus intended for a senior-officer with the rank of: 'Oberstleutnant' (ie. lieutnant-colonel). Taking into account, the fact that this pair has the somewhat 'sub-dued'-type 'upperdecks' I deem that it was a pair that was intended to be used on a regular 'front-used'-tunic. It should be mentioned that these officers'-pattern, 'Feldgendarmerie o. Akademie'-related shoulderboards are actually quite hard to come by and can easily be graded 'fairly scarce'. The pair shows some clear age, wear and or staining and has its upperdecks coming somewhat loose (as can be seen on the pictures). This attractive pair originated from a private-household in Germany where it was recently found as such. Simply an attractive WH (Heeres) shoulderboard-pair that belonged an: 'Oberstleutnant' who served within an: 'Feldgendarmerie-Abteilungs o. Akademie' and that is (I deem) priced according to its somewhat 'loosened' upperdecks!
