Superb - and fully matching! - pair of WH (Heeres), early- (ie. pre-war-) period, 'M36 o. M40'-pattern- (ie. pointed-styled) 'cyphered' shoulderstraps as was specifically intended for usage by an: 'Unterwachtmeister des Artillerie-Regiments 42'
This is a truly very attractive - fully matching and with certainty fairly scarcely encountered - pair of WH (Heeres), early- (ie. pre-war-) period, 'M36 o. M40'-pattern- (ie. pointed-styled) 'cyphered' and/or non-piped shoulderstraps, as was specifically intended for usage by an: 'Unterwachtmeister des Artillerie-Regiments 42' (or: junior-sergeant who served within the artillery-regiment ie. unit numbered: '42') and that comes in an overall very nice- (I deem just minimally used ie. worn-), condition. The straps - which measure both approximately 11,7 cms. in length - have the 'standard'-pattern- and/or darker-green-coloured, smooth-woolen-based 'upperdecks' and have (of course) no piping (as per regulation). The shoulderstraps shows the neat (machine-embroidered by means of so-called: 'Kurbelstickerei') '4' and/or '2' numerals (ie. cyphers or 'Ziffern' attached (as can be seen on the pictures). Both 'cyphers' are executed in the bright-red- (ie. 'hochroter'-) coloured wool ie. linnen as to be expected. The straps - which come mounted onto their functional tongues and that show the 'standard-issued'-pattern, silver-coloured NCO-braid attached - show as stated above only minimal usage and/or wear (some minor staining and/or dust is however visible and/or present). It should be noted that all 'cyphered', 'Artillerie'-related NCO-type shoulderstraps are very desirable and can easily be regarded 'scarce', even more so when they come in such a very nicely preserved condition. Simply a veryattractive, early- ie. pre-war-period, neatly 'cyphered Heeres' shoulderstrap-pair that was specifically intended for usage by an: 'Unterwachtmeister des Artillerie-Regiments 42' which is I deem priced according to its obvious desirability and/or scarcity!
