Superb - and truly rarely seen! - example of a TR-period armband (ie. 'Armbinde') entitled: 'Deutsche Post Osten' (being of the 'partly-woven'-type in a technique similar to the 'BeVo'-weave pattern)

This is a truly attractive - and with certainty very rarely encountered! - bright-blue- (ie. 'kornblumenblauer'-) coloured example of a Third Reich-period armband (ie. 'Armbinde') entitled: 'Deutsche Post Osten' being an example of the 'partly-woven'-type in a technique similar to the 'BeVo'-weave pattern and that comes in a just moderately used- and/or worn, condition. These linnen-based armbands were intended for usage by staff-members (ie. officers) tasked with postal-control duties at the front and were presumably worn on the left upper-arm. This example - which has been 'off-factory sewn-together - has a total size of approximately 39 cms. and is 10,5 cms. wide - and is constructed from bright-blue-coloured linnen and shows the neatly interwoven text: 'Deutsche Post Osten' (as executed in black-coloured linnen). The armband is totally void of an ink-stamp (ie. 'Dienstsiegel') and is just a tiny bit stained and is moreover a tiny bit wrinkled. The piece is very nicely made and shows only moderate age ie. staining (simply caused by decades of storage and/or moderate wear). The obscure - and with certainty small-sized! - TR-organisation: 'Deutsche Post Osten' fell under the direction of the 'Deutsche Reichspost' and was instituted by a specific order (ie. 'Erlass') as was issued by the responsible 'Reichsminister' named Richard Ohnesorge on 16 August 1942. There is regrettably not much reference-material available on this subject. This example originates from a larger-sized armband-collection that was compiled over many years and that I recently acquired for the web-site. Simply a very attractive - and with certainty very rarely encountered! - 'Deutsche Post Osten'-related armband that is with certainty accordingly priced!
