Superb - and/or truly detailed! - 'hollow-back'-pattern 'Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen in Bronze' being a clearly maker- (ie. 'A'-) marked example by the: 'Assmann'-company as executed in bronze-toned- and zinc-based metal (ie. 'Feinzink')
This is a very attractive - and actually truly detailed and with certainty not that often seen! - I deem early-war-period example of an: 'Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen in Bronze' (or: bronze-class infantry assault badge ie. IAB) being a clearly maker- (ie. 'A'-) marked example that was produced by the: 'Assmann'-company as executed in light-toned- and bronze-coloured zinc-based metal (ie. 'Feinzink) and that comes in an overall nice- (albeit moderately used and/or worn-), condition. This example is as stated above a maker- (ie. 'A'-) marked example and has a 'typical' catch and/or hinge set-up as to be expected for IABs by this maker. The badge seems to be totally uncleaned and has an attractive, typical bronze-coloured age-patina: a fair bit of its original bronze-toned-finish has been nicely preserved (which is not always the case). The pin and/or catch (ie. set-up-) are of course fully functional and/or present. The piece - which originates from a private-household and that was never before part of any collection - shows some moderate wear and/or staining was most certainly never cleaned. Simply a nice and honest hollow-back bronze-class, 'Feinzink'-based example by the desirable maker: 'Assmann u. Söhne' that is with certainty accordingly priced!
