Attractive - albeit moderately used- ie. worn! - WH (Kriegsmarine) 'Zerstörerkriegsabzeichen' being a clearly maker-marked example as executed in 'Feinzink' as was produced by the desirable maker (ie. 'Hersteller'): 'S.H.u.Co.'
This is an attractive - albeit I deem just moderately worn but still detailed and pronounced! - example of a so-called: WH (Kriegsmarine) 'Zerstörerkriegsabzeichen' (or: destroyers'-war-badge) being a (typical) maker- (ie. 'S.H.u.Co.'-) marked- example that is executed in typical zinc-based metal (ie. 'Feinzink') and that comes in an overall nice- (albeit surely issued- and I deem moderately used- ie. worn-), condition. The very detailed and/or pronounced badge has lost most of its golden- (ie. silverish-grey) coloured finish (which has 'migrier't over the years as more often) and is executed in so-called: zinc-based metal (ie. 'Feinzink'): it comes, naturally mounted onto its unaltered- and/or functional (thin-shaped and neatly horizontally-mounted) pin and/or catch (set-up). The neat badge (that also retains its often missing so-called: 'Gegenhaken') was - I deem - never cleaned nor polished: it is just a tiny bit dusty ie. dirty as recently found (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece shows all characteristics as to be expected for a by the maker (ie. 'Hersteller') 'Sohni, Heubach & Co. Metallwarenfabrik' (= 'S.H.u.Co.') as based in the town of Oberstein (Nahe) produced naval war-badge. I deem that this used - albeit still nicely preserved! - WH (Kriegsmarine) 'Zerstörerkriegsabzeichen' is accordingly priced!
