The attractive piece - which was surely issued and/or hardly or even never worn! - came together with its folded and/or non-confectioned (and approx. 29 cms. long-sized-) ribbon (ie. 'Bandabschnitt') as issued. The cross - which shows a clear makers'-designation '44' stamped into its ring (as can be seen on the pictures) - was with certainty never cleaned and has a very nice and/or truly attractive age-patina: it has lost most of its so-called: 'hochpolierte Kanten' (or: polished sides) but is truly void of any damage or alike: the cross is simply very nicely preserved (as can be seen on the pictures). The cross has a very nicely preserved, black-finished (ie. somewhat 'matted') core: it is totally void of any damage or paint-loss and has been nicely preserved (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece is just a tiny bit dusty and/or stained but was never cleaned nor polished. The cross is an evident specimen that was produced by the maker: 'Jacob Bengel' as based in the town of Oberstein (ie. 'Hersteller 44'): it has very nice and/or pronounced detail as to be expected for a cross by this desirable maker. The IC was recently found at a German private-household and was never before in collectors'-hands. Simply a neat, maker-marked 'EK II. Klasse' that will be very hard to be upgraded!
