Attractive - and truly very detailed! - 'Buntmetall'-based- (albeit non-maker-marked) version of a WH (Luftwaffe) 'Frontflugspange für Transportflieger in Silber' (or: silver-class transport-pilots'-clasp ie. FFS)
This is a truly very attractive and/or pronounced, typical 'Buntmetall'-based- (albeit as more often non-maker-marked) version of a WH (Luftwaffe) 'Frontflugspange für Transportflieger in Silber' (or: silver-class transport-pilots'-clasp ie. FFS) that comes in an overall very nice- (ie. I deem only moderately used- and/or worn-), condition. The neat piece has simply extraordinary detail and retains most of its period-applied finish: the silver-coloured- (and 'Buntmetall'-based) eagle-device (which is additionally attached to the clasp) is equally detailed and also retains all of its silverish-blue-toned and minimal 'tarnished' finish. The piece is as stated a non-maker-marked example (as most times) that was as stated above only moderately worn but truly shows great character and/or fine, pronounced detail. The clasp comes naturally in great shape ie. order: the (silver-coloured- ie. 'Buntmetall'-based) pin-/ie. pin-attachment and/or single rivet are in fine (and/or undamaged nor repaired-) order. The catch is also in great undamaged order and of course fully functional. The clasp has I deem never been cleaned nor polished and has a neat and/or slightly tarnished 'age-patina'. It originated from a private-household in Germany and was never before part of any collection. Simply an attractive - and not that often encountered! - fairly 'high-class' Luftwaffe-award that is with certainty accordingly priced!
