Attractive, 'BeVo'-type armshield (of the second pattern-) entitled: 'Bergkaukasien', being a piece as intended for a volunteer who served within the 'Deutsche Wehrmacht' ie. within the 'Berg- o. Nord-Kaukasisches Legion'
This particular armshield being of the second pattern and showing a blue-coloured shield with in its centre a three-headed horse symbol with above the (German) text: 'Bergkaukasien' is neatly woven in the so-called: 'BeVo'-weave technique and comes as being 'straightly cut-off the roll'. The assigned region 'Bergkaukasien' included most of the mountain-rich areas in the Russian Causasus and was at the time known as the: 'Generalkommissariat für die Gebiete der Bergvölker'. These - original - 'official' arm-shields as executed in 'BeVo'-type weave (ie. German manufacture by the company of 'BeVo'!) can be easily considered 'scarce'. I deem that I have priced this (virtually mint-/unissued-) example accordingly!
