Superb - and actually rarely seen! - greyish-toned WH (Heeres) 'Infanterie'-related item: a semi-official, commemorative-medal (aka: 'Url') depicting a representation of a German steel-helmet and showing the text: '7./J.R.19 - Weinachten 1938'
This is an attractive - and actually quite rarely found! - silverish-grey-toned- and/or - I deem - typical 'Buntmetall'-based, WH (Heeres) 'Infanterie'-related item: a semi-official, commemorative-medal (aka: 'Url' or: luck-bringer) depicting a detailed representation of a German steelhelmet (with decal) on its front and an engraved text on its back that reads: '7./J.R.19 - Weinachten 1938' and that comes in an overall very nice- (albeit clearly used- ie. worn-), condition. The circular-shaped piece (having an approximate diameter of 3 cms.) comes mounted onto its period 'hanger' (which is constructed from a piece of black-coloured ribbon and having an attachment-device in place (as can be noticed on the pictures). The detailed piece is constructed from silverish-toned 'Buntmetall'-based metal and shows most of its 'silverish-like' finish: it has really nice and/or pronounced detail. I know that these desirable 'semi-official'-medals are also copied: this is naturally a genuine example that was never before part of a collection and originates from a German-household where it was recently uncovered. There is not much known about these commemorative 'medals' but they were most certainly highly desirable 'souvenir'-pieces that were awarded to the soldiers by (amongst others) their commanding officers. In any case is this a very attractive - and without doubt scarcely seen! - 'Infanterie'-related item!
