Moderately used 'Panzerkampfabzeichen in Silber' (or: silver-class panzer-assault badge or PAB) being a clearly maker- (ie. 'AS' in a triangle-) marked- and/or typical zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based specimen as was procuced by a to date unknown maker Moderately used 'Panzerkampfabzeichen in Silber' (or: silver-class panzer-assault badge or PAB) being a clearly maker- (ie. This is an attractive - and clearly issued- and/or worn! - example of a so-called: 'Panzerkampfabzeichen in Silber' (or: silver-class panzer-assault badge or PAB) being a clearly maker- (ie. 'AS' in a triangle-) marked- and/or typical zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based specimen as was procuced by a to date unknown maker and that comes in an overall nice- (and I deem clearly used- and/or worn-), condition. The badge on offer here concerns (I deem) a mid-war-period-, zinc- ie. 'Feinzink'-based specimen that retains most of its silver-coloured finish but that has tarnished over the years: nevertheless, does it still have an attractive appearance, still showing pronounced detail as to be expected by a badge by this particular maker. The badge - which has a typical, somewhat greyish zinc-type age-patina - has, however, I deem never been cleaned nor polished (and is still a tiny bit dirty ie. stained- ie. tarnished as mentioned above). As stated is the piece a neatly maker-marked example that shows the various characteristics - such as for example the typically ball-shaped pin-set-up, silver-coloured- and thin-shaped pin and/or modelled catch - as only seen on PABs as produced by this (still unidentified) maker: it deals with a so-called: 'AS in Triangle Die 2'-pattern (as is uniquely numbered with the reference-number: '3.3.2.' according to the excellent reference-work entitled: 'The Panzer-Assault badge of WWII' by my Belgian friend Philippe de Bock). This piece naturally shows all the details as to be expected for a badge by this particular maker. The piece was recently found as such at a German private-household and was never before part of a collection. Simply an attractive and honest silver-class PAB by this still unidentified maker that is with certainty accordingly priced!
